Top2Top Adds Conference Speakers

New speakers have been added to the Pet Industry's Top2Top Conference, which will be hosted by the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) in Amelia Island, Fla., April 23-24.

In addition to a keynote address by Former Secretary of Commerce and Transportation Norman Minetea, sessions and speakers for the 2014 conference include:

The Millennial Pet Owner
This session will explore the market power of the Millennial generation of pet owners and will include insights into key trends, preferences and purchase behaviors of this market segment. Presenter Nathan Ritcher is a partner at Wakefield Research, an independent global research consultancy that works with some of the world's more iconic B2B and costumer brands.


Applying Your Business Expertise to Solve Industry Threats

Presented by Sam Geduldig of Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford, this session will provide an insider's view of the legislative process and aims to empower attendees with the tools they need to positively impact the future of the industry.


Affecting Change at the Local, State, and National Level

This session will address the legislative process for regulated industries, perceptions held by legislators and recommendations on the ways pet businesses can create constructive change. Congressman Dennis Cardoza, the managing director of federal government affairs and public policy at Manatt, will share his insight in this session.

Setting the Standard
Presented by Dr. Candace Croney, an associate professor of animal behavior and well-being at Purdue University, this session will illustrate the efforts by Purdue University and the pet industry to establish science-based breeding guidelines, and the benefits that will accrue to the animals, the dog buying public and the breeders themselves.
