Nutro Company Launches Grant Program to Enhance Dog Parks
July 24, 2013

The Nutro Company has launched its fourth-annual Room to Run Dog Park Appreciation Project. The company will award 30 $2,000 grants to help fund enhancement efforts in public, non-profit dog parks serving local communities throughout the U.S.

Enhancements may range from general repairs and maintenance (e.g. painting benches or repairing fences), installation of new agility equipment, landscaping, updates to water system or creation of shaded areas. The Room to Run Associate Board will review and select parks that exhibit the greatest need.

"Enhancing dog parks is a natural fit the Nutro Company, as we have a longstanding commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle for pets by providing them with natural pet food for more than 80 years," said Monic Barrett, The Nutro Company's senior corporate affairs manager.

"Many of us use our own local dog parks as a place to interact and bond with our dogs, so we are excited to give community members the opportunity to take action and apply for grant support to help enhance their own local parks," Barrett said.

The deadline for entries is Aug. 31. Grant applications can be found online.
