Chuck & Don’s Pet Food Outlet has been named the 2013 Retailer of the Year by Pet Business magazine.
A 20-plus-year-old chain that operates 19 stores in the Twin-Cities region of Minnesota and five stores Denver, Colo., Chuck & Don’s was selected by the Pet Business Editorial Advisory Board and staff because of the success that it has achieved in pet product retailing, as well as its unwavering commitment to serving the communities surrounding its stores.
“The team at Chuck & Don’s has built a strong brand by taking the right approach to pet product retailing,” said Mark Kalaygian, editor in chief of Pet Business. “In addition to offering its customers a comprehensive selection of best-in-class products, the chain places a premium on employee education and customer service, and provides incredible support to the pet communities surrounding their stores. From every angle, Chuck & Don’s is an excellent example of what an independent pet retailer should be.”
Chuck & Don’s Pet Food Outlet will be the subject of Pet Business’ July cover story, and the magazine will host a reception to honor Robert Hartzell, Chuck Anderson and their team during the upcoming SuperZoo trade show, which will be held July 23-25 in Las Vegas.
