Pet Store Pro Adds Communication Course

Pet Store Pro, the free online training program created by the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA), has added a new course focused on communication. The new chapter teaches six essential skills managers can use to develop employees and maximize productivity.

 

The Communication for Retail Manager program offers interactive, self-paced courses for employees and managers. It introduces techniques to develop associates, including maintaining or enhancing employee self-esteem, focusing on specific behaviors and outcomes, using rewards and consequences to reinforce behavior, listening effectively, asking for feedback, and setting goals and follow-up dates.

 

Pet Store Pro’s manager curriculum is designed to help new and experienced managers meet their day-to-day challenges. Each course highlights retail best practices and includes pet-specific examples, interactive knowledge checks and a chapter test.
